  Program Description

First Choice Home Health and Hospice’s

Organizational Psychology/ Organizational Behavior Internship

Internship Description

First Choice Home Health and Hospice is putting on an internship through their Human Resource Department that is principally built around Organization Psychology/ Organizational Behavior. Due to the nature of the internship interns will be exposed to other areas of business.

In this internship you will have the opportunity to be trained on how to administer performance appraisals, analyze job processes (to promote efficiency), map out job processes (creating job specific charts), write training manuals, research employee recruiting methods, as well as selection and interview processes. (For a detailed breakdown of these projects please call the contact listed below.)

Other opportunities of job shadowing a diverse group of professionals are available to you within this internship. Mentoring by a First Choice employee is available as well but is on an intern to intern basis. Availability is determined by the employee and can range in time dedicated to the mentoring process.

Interns can expect most of their work to be done in the office. Some projects may allow for work at home although not as often. While at work interns may be paired in groups or given an assignment to be completed individually depending on the nature of the task.

During the internship interns will assume a consulting role. Projects may change midstream due to the needs of the company. Additionally, suggestions for improvement may be identified by interns but may be accepted or rejected by the company. If accepted, interns may be given the primary responsibility of completing the suggested project.

This is a wonderful opportunity to get real life experience in order to prepare you for a future career in human resources, business, and consulting.

Your academic knowledge coupled with the experience you gain will take you farther in a career than academic prowess or experience alone.
