Psychology Minors

Minor in Psychology

If you want further academic credit for pursuing an interest in psychology but plan on earning a degree in another field, consider declaring a Psychology Minor.

Declaring the Minor

To declare a Psychology Minor, simply come to the College of Family, Home and Social Sciences Advisement Center in 151 SWKT, meet with an advisor, and fill out some papers.

Requirements

1. Complete the following:
Psych 111; 301 or equivalent.

2. Complete 12 elective hours from the remaining undergraduate and 500-level courses; 9 hours must be 300-level or above. No more than 6 hours of Independent Study credit may count toward the minor.

Minor in Psychology Teaching

The psychology teaching minor is intended for students who are pursuing secondary education licensure through the David O. McKay School of Education.

Requirements

1. Complete the following:
Psych 111, 321, 361

2. Complete 12 elective hours of psychology (Psych 240, 320, 350 are recommended).
