Kendall Mellow

This week we would like you to meet Kendall Mellow! Kendall (She/Her) joins us from sunny Gilbert, Arizona, and is junior in the Psych major with a Family Life minor. She enjoys hiking, hammocking, and spending time with her family. Speaking of her family, Kendall is actually a triplet! Her sisters are studying Exercise Science and Nursing here at BYU.

One psych class that impacted Kendall was Psych 307. She shared, “I was amazed at how Psych 307 brought me closer to the Savior. It was such a humbling, rewarding, and strengthening experience. I met lots of good friends in the class too.” Kendall was also strengthened by her experience with the Family Foundations of Youth Development research project. Of this, she said, “We collected data via surveys from parents and youth to observe their life experiences. The project is still going for another couple of years including interviews and more data collection. Dr. Justin Dyer and his team were so welcoming. I don’t feel intimidated by research anymore! The people on the project are fantastic and the research is so relevant.”

Finally, when asked what advice she would give her fellow Psych majors, Kendall shared, “You don’t need to feel bad if helping people is all that’s drawing you to psychology! That is SUCH a noble pursuit.”

We couldn’t agree more! It is nice to meet you, Kendall!
