Welcome to the Brigham Young University Pediatric Health Behavior Research Group website.

Our research is broadly concerned with prevention of and intervention for childhood and adolescent obesity and related disorders.More specifically, our research has three long-term objectives:

  1. To create and evaluate effective behavioral weight control programs for children and adolescents.
  2. To investigate the psychological and social experiences of overweight and obese youth (e.g., peer victimization; quality of life).
  3. To assess the utility of innovative technologies in pediatric obesity prevention and intervention.
  4. To examine peer and parental influences on child and adolescent weight control

The Pediatric Health Behavior Research Group is directed by Dr. Chad D. Jensen through the Department of Psychology and the Clinical Psychology Program at Brigham Young University.
