Chelsea Sheffield
Chelsea Johnson Sheffield of Pleasant View, UT, is a junior in the psychology major with a minor in Asian Studies! Chelsea loves Food Network, running, trying to belt songs from her favorite musicals, baking and cooking for her hungry husband, and working with her cute little kiddos at Alternative Behavior Strategies! Once she finishes her undergrad, Chelsea also excitedly looks forward to pursuing a career in school psychology and hopes to attend BYU’s Education Specialist program in School Psychology in the future. Of the classes she has taken in the major so far, Psych 306 - Psychology of Gender has been one of her favorites. She explains: “Psychology 306 with Niwako Yamawaki was not only an 8AM class that actually made me wake up with a smile and a skip in my step, it also left me questioning my own biases and unconsciously held beliefs. On more than one occasion, I have used concepts or noticed issues taught by this class. I would absolutely recommend this class to not only Psychology students but to the student body as a whole! I can absolutely promise that each students’ views on the world, their community, their neighbors, and even themselves will be tested, challenged, and changed all for the better—all for better understanding and acceptance.”
