Julia Spiker

Coming from Santa Clarita, CA, our spotlight for this week is Julia Spiker, a junior in the psych major! In her free time, Julia enjoys rebuilding cars (specifically Jeeps), off roading, piano, hiking, and shooting. A fun fact about Julia is that she bought a 2000 Jeep Wrangler when she was 16 and rebuilt it with her dad, so she has been obsessed with cars ever since! When asked what psych class impacted her most, Julia said, “Writing in Psychology has been impactful in my studies. My professor, Dr. Duraccio, is incredible and has allowed us to increase our knowledge within our studies of interest while encouraging us to be better writers as well as better people. I deeply recommend other students take this class, even though it’s a requirement for the major, and find a way to personalize it for yourself and enjoy it.” Upon graduating, Julia plans to work in either Rehabilitation Facilities or VA clinics to work with military veterans specifically suffering from PTSD and other anxiety disorders. Julia wants to pursue this path so that she can serve those who serve our country.
