McKell Lindsay

Our first spotlight of the semester is McKell Lindsay! McKell (She/Her) is a senior in the psychology major from Eagle Mountain, Utah. She is also a part of the Country Swing Dance Club here at BYU. When she’s not dancing, she also enjoys singing, playing the ukulele, and trying new things with her friends! A fun fact about McKell is that she is double jointed in both her elbows and knees!

One psychology class that has impacted her is Abnormal Psychology (Psychopathology). She said, “It impacted me because I learned about mental illnesses that we refer to all the time, but we don't completely understand or use too loosely. I loved learning what each mental illness is. I also gained a greater appreciation for those dealing with these mental illnesses because I better understood their symptoms and what they possibly might be going through. I would definitely encourage other students to take it because I think it is valuable to understand these mental illnesses so we can better understand those who have them.”

When asked what her advice would be to other psych majors, McKell shared, “They need to utilize all their resources. Use the TAs, use the professors, use the writing labs, etc. It is through these resources that I have gained the most out of my classes and was able to be the most successful I could be.”

It is nice to meet you, McKell!
