Psych 430R Capstone: Research Assistantship

Experience Description:

  • Capstone experience in psychological research–laboratory-based, field-based, or otherwise
  • Varies depending on the professor and lab you work with
    • Can include learning how to use lab equipment like EEGs, gathering data for publication, and drafting manuscripts
  • Each student is required to take a 3.0 credit capstone course

  • Complete PSYCH 307 308, 309, 310 and have 90+ credits

Good Fit For:

  • Students interested in pursuing graduate school programs or careers in areas such as clinical psychology, counseling, criminal psychology, sports psychology, medicine/dentistry, academia, government or private research labs, or law.

Exit Exam:

  • All graduating seniors enrolled in a capstone course are required to take an exit exam through the Psychology Department. This exam is not for a grade and is strictly for departmental purposes.
